Stations of the Cross

2. Jesus Receives the Cross

V. We adore Thee O Christ, and we praise Thee
R. Because by thy holy Cross thous hast redeemed the world.

A heavy cross is laid upon the bruised shoulders of Jesus. He received it with meekness, nay, with secret joy, ofr it is the instrument with which he is to redeem the world.

V. O Jesus! Grant us, by virtue of Thy cross, to embrace with meekness and cheerful submission difficulties of our state, and be ever ready to take up our cross and follow thee.

R. I love you Jesus, my love above all things, and I repent with my whole heart at having ever offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again. Grant that I may love you always and then do with me what you will.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdome come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb - Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen.

V. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
R. Amen.
