Organisations
  • RCIA - Every Tuesday evening 7.30 pm. Open to all who wish to know more about the Catholic Church.
  • CAFOD - Donations to CAFOD from St Peter's during the past year are the second highest in the Diocese, £9374.56. Very many thanks to all who supported the Crisis in Africa, Fast Day collections and the Emergency Appeals to raise this amount.
  • AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL - Please write to the Iraqi Mission in London to request the release of an Iraqi businessman who has disappeared after arrest by U.S. soldiers. Take a copy of the briefing on the Amnesty board (next to the Piety Shop door), containing all the information you need to write to the Iraqi mission
  • C.T.S. - Don't forget to make sure that you place all money for the purchase of C.T.S. booklets in the Wall box by St. Anthony's statue. Thank you.
  • SPAN: Thank you very much for your donations last week. You gave £ 74.34 (General), £20.00 (Gift Aid) , and £70.56 (Crisis in Africa).
  • SPAN: CHRISTMAS FOOD PARCELS This year we are appealing for donations so that we can buy the necessary items, to ensure that the parcels contain a balanced selection of goods. If parishioners wish to give small boxes of chocolates we shall be happy to receive them, otherwise please send your donations to SPAN, c/o the Presbytery, in envelopes clearly marked SPAN food parcels. The parcels will be delivered on Sunday 5 December - volunteer drivers will be needed. Thank you.
  • SPAN: TOYS AND GAMES are needed for the families we support. There are usually a number of children aged 8 and upwards so items suitable for them would be very welcome. Your gifts, preferably wrapped and the contents indicated, may be brought to the Parish Centre between the 9 and 11 am Masses on Sundays but please label them clearly "SPAN" so that they are not confused with gifts for the Bazaar.
  • St Peter's Parish Centre: CHRISTMAS BAZAAR November 28th , 10 - 2 pm. Bring plants and cakes, bottles, and smellies then come on the day and buy your Christmas pressies - Doris. Tel. 770287. Also needed: jewellery, plates, vases etc from developing countries for CLC worldwide jewellery & ceramics stall.
  • U.C.M: The next meeting will be on Wednesday 17 November. We are visiting the Diocesan Centre for Evangelisation and Prayer, where Fr David Keniry will be leading us in an evening of Recollection. Will all members please meet in the Church car park at 6.30 pm. Anyone interested in joining us will be very welcome. Do come and meet us - you will find us a very friendly group.
  • Piety Shop: Before you buy your Christmas cards, gifts, and wrapping paper, stop!... and take a look in the Piety Shop. There is a wide range of all these Christmas goods in the shop, and your purchases will help to support the church, reducing our debt. St Peter's deluxe Christmas puddings and brandy butter (both as supplied to Harrod's) have built up a good reputation over the years and have travelled around the globe. Buy now while stocks last.
  • Radio Warneford - Warwick Hospital: The hospital radio is run by volunteers, on evenings and weekends, for all patients in the hospital. Patients are visited on the wards by our teams and after a chat, if so wished, a request can be made for a favourite piece of music. This will then be played on the hospital radio-channel 5 that same evening/day and can be heard by the patients on their individual headphones. An alternative is to phone in advance if you have a date for going into hospital or have a relative ring with your request, whilst you are in. The number given below will be available on answerphone between 5-6 pm every evening. Please make calls brief giving: a name, home area, a ward number and the request. I will then ring these requests into hospital to the relevant team each evening. - Ann Reilly, 428714.
